Lusail City Attractions
Welcome to the world's most smart cities
In the past fifteen years, you may have asked, "Where is that?" Today, however, Lusail City is not only firmly established on the map, but also etched in the hearts and minds of Qataris, expats, and tourists. Lusail City can rightfully claim to be the smartest, most technologically advanced smart city in the region, if not the entire world, given its population of approximately 200,000 and its iconic World Cup stadium.
The high-speed fiber technology network in Lusail gives businesses a competitive advantage, while residents enjoy an exceptional quality of life in a sustainable environment.
However, Lusail encompasses much more than technology. It is one of the most fascinating places to live, work, and play. Each district features a variety of residential, commercial, hospitality, and retail destinations, in addition to schools, mosques, hotels, medical facilities, sports venues, and shopping centers.
1. Visit Crescent Park
With a design inspired by the desert environment and sand dunes, Crescent Park demonstrates Lusail's commitment to sustainable living by utilizing recycled water to irrigate green spaces. This open space is truly a delight with its themed playgrounds, water features, football field, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, bike trails, food outlets, children's play areas, and access to Marina Promenade.
2. Take a stroll along Marina Promenade
Ambient and energizing, the Marina Promenade is perfect for evening strolls under palm trees. As joggers and cyclists pass by, you may wonder if this type of landscape exists elsewhere. When illuminated at night, the interactive fountains will capture your heart. Sip coffee from a stall while appreciating the lively atmosphere. The Marina is adorned with yachts and restaurants serving street food.
If you are fortunate enough to be here in early December, you may be able to observe Light Me Lusail, the annual festival of lights. Observe the sky illuminate in an array of vibrant hues. Absolutely enchanted.
3. Discover Place Vendôme
As the center of leisure and recreation in Lusail, Place Vendôme is a Paris-inspired leisure, entertainment, and luxury retail district. Place Vendôme is more than an exclusive shopping mall, as a sea-to-land canal runs directly through it. On-site are two five-star hotels and luxury apartments, as well as restaurants serving haute cuisine, American cuisine, Far Eastern delicacies, and Italian cuisine.
4.Participate in an ancient sport.
Visit the Lusail Shooting and Archery Club to partake in an ancient sport. While the earliest evidence of archery dates back approximately 12,000 years, when Egyptians and Nubians used bows and arrows for hunting and settling disputes, archery is still practiced today by enthusiasts and the curious. This venue hosted events for the 15th Asian Games in 2006 and the Arab Games in 2011. The club is well-liked by both amateurs and professionals and hosts prestigious local championships. The range is equipped for Trap, Double Trap, and Clay Pigeon (Skeet) shooting. However, you do not need to be competing to enjoy a unique experience unavailable anywhere else in Qatar.
5. Visit Lusail Sports Arena
Lusail Sports Arena, also known as Lusail Multipurpose Hall, is a state-of-the-art venue that hosts handball, volleyball, and basketball events, as well as music concerts. It has been awarded three Global Sustainability Assessment System Stars for its design.
Its unique glass structure depicts Qatar's sand, pearls, and sea. The venue is surrounded by trees, jogging and cycling paths, a covered outdoor gym, and a playground for children.
The venue was deemed ideal for hosting the 2015 Men's World Handball Championship.
6. Explore the Marina Twin Towers
The Marina Twin Towers resemble colorful Lego blocks, while the Waterfront Hotel, also known as Cubes Tower, appears to have blocks protruding from the building. Other interesting structures include the circular suspension bridge in Lusail, which, when illuminated at night, looks absolutely incredible.
7. Explore breathtaking architecture
The breathtaking architecture of Katara Towers truly represents the progressive Qatar of the future. The destination consists of luxury hotels, apartments, office spaces, retail stores, and restaurants, all housed within a crescent-shaped structure that translates the country's national identity into an extraordinary architectural landmark. There are scimitar swords from Qatar's national seal designed as a striking pair of arched towers rising 36 photogenic floors. Katara Towers features not only a five-star hotel, but also the country's first six-star hotel.
8. Visit Lusail Iconic Stadium
The crown jewel of Lusail City is the Lusail Iconic Stadium, both in name and in nature. This 86,000-seat marvel was designed by the world-famous British architects Foster + Partners to host the World Cup Final. The truly iconic design was inspired by the traditional fanar lantern and adorned with Arab bowls and vessels to reflect Qatar's heritage and culture. Lusail Iconic Stadium raises the bar for sports venues to new heights.
